La interminable guardia llegó a su fin.
Él cargó unas horas más de insomnio a su cuenta. Y marchó cansado a su casa.
Esa guardia fue una más de las que tuvo que hacer para cumplir su aumentada jornada laboral. Tuvo que improvisar tratamientos para paliar el déficit de medicamentos, tuvo que tirar de su maletín personal para calmar el dolor de pacientes con una morfina que incompresiblemente todavía no se la proporciona la farmacia de su hospital de referencia. Pero como bien sabe, con la salud no se juega, y eso lo sabe él y muchísimos profesionales que han puesto más de lo que se les pedía durante estos duros años en España, para salvar un maltratado sistema sanitario.
Y es que hemos vivido una temporada de recortes, de perdidas de derechos, de escándalos de corrupción, de paralización de carreras, y en los que a pesar de todo, seguimos teniendo una sensación de que siempre nos apretamos el cinturón los mismos, y que desde arriba solo se hacen llamativos cambios de fichas que finalmente realizan un mismo juego.
Esa noche en su casa, colgó el fonendo, y como muchos españoles se sentó delante de la televisión para ver el llamado debate decisivo, donde esperaba ver y escuchar lo que los principales candidatos a la presidencia tenían que proponer. Estaba ilusionado, porque quería y necesitaba escuchar alguna propuesta sobre nuestro debilitado sistema sanitario, unas palabras a las que agarrarse en esas interminables guardias, donde como muchos profesionales daba más de lo que se le pedía.
Lamentablemente, ningún candidato mencionó ni por error alguna palabra o propuesta dirigida a la sanidad española.
Esa noche se fue a la cama ninguneado. Le dio la sensación de que los políticos ignoraron algo tan importante como la salud, y despreciaron todo el esfuerzo que profesionales y pacientes habían tenido que hacer durante estos 4 largos años.
La sanidad española perdió en aquel debate, y el silencio de muchos desilusionó a un colectivo que sufre cada día los recortes del sistema.
